Advantages of Taking Skiing and Snowboarding Gear on Rent

0

Purchasing the required gear may be the most convenient option for you if you are going on a skiing or snowboarding trip, but what may stop you is the cost of the new gear. Under such circumstances, you can choose to hire the equipments, especially if you are a beginner and are not sure about your success with the sport.

Hiring the snowboarding or skiing gear is much more affordable than purchasing the new one, especially if you cannot spend several dollars on purchasing them. By renting these equipments, you will also not need to carry them all over your trip in your car or on the plane. You never know what your body will be like the next year. It may go slimmer or fatter and can you really afford to buy a new one every year. Keeping all these things in mind, hiring the equipments is undoubtedly the better option than purchasing a new one.

Once you have decided to get your equipments on rent, you have to reserve it much before going out for your trip, especially if you are going out during the peak season. If you wait till the last minute, you will need to search a lot for the appropriate equipments and sizes.

If you have decided to rent the equipment at the mountain itself because you do not want to carry your gear all up to the mountain, you need to arrive at least an hour before you are planning to snowboard or ski. This will give you enough time to get your gear and fit in well. But if you are planning to rent it elsewhere, it is good to get the gear at least a day before your schedule.

The type of ski and snowboard equipments that you hire depends upon the weight of your body. The gear has to be of the right weight and your shoes should be of the right size.

While signing the contract for hiring the equipments, the company will also offer you insurance over the gear, the cost of which is usually a single dollar for a day. This comes to 3-4 dollars for one trip. This cost is much less when we compare it to hundreds of dollars we will have to spend if we damage the rented snowboard or ski.

All these tips will prove to be very helpful to decide which ski or snowboard equipments to rent, so that we can head towards our expedition all set.

It is sometimes difficult to locate a cheap used treadmill for sale but it is not impossible. You need to educate yourself as to where to find one and how to find a good deal for it. You can always locate one in a sporting good store but it might be heavy on your wallet. Try the following options:

1. Try asking at the local gyms

As gyms pride themselves in having the latest technology and the state of the art equipment they are always getting rid of the old to make way for the new. Why not ask the gym owner what he does with his old equipment and see if a deal can be made.

Health Benefits Of Infrared Ray Sauna By Category

0

Researchers in Japan have been documenting the effectiveness of far infrared ray (FIR) saunas. Apparently using FIR saunas can raise one’s body temperature in a controlled and healthy way, which induces better tissue function. The benefits of FIR sauna therapy are many. Below is a brief list of some of them.

Asthma: May be cleared up (like moving to Arizona’s dry air). A case study was reported in which a 41 year old male suffered from toxic occupational asthma, headaches, depression and other complaints. Serum analysis revealed an extremely high level of toluene (a toxin) and antibodies to isocyanate, TMA and formaldehyde (toxins). He was placed on a FIR therapy program and his lungs cleared up within 3 days. After 52 days, his health had improved by 85%. Post treatment analysis revealed no detectable levels of any volatile compounds.

Back Pain: Low level heat therapy is more effective than over-the-counter oral medications for relieving low back pain, according to the results of a nationwide study led by a sports medicine researcher at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. In the six-month study involving 371 patients, participants were given the maximum recommended non-prescription dosages of ibuprofen and acetaminophen or low level heat therapy for two days to treat acute low back pain. The results showed that the low level heat therapy provided significantly more pain relief beginning on the first day of treatment than the oral analgesics and that the effects lasted more than 48 hours after the treatment was completed. “Confirming that this treatment is effective is important to patients because it gives them a treatment option that does not have the potential risk to the liver, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract than can accompany inappropriate analgesic usage,” said Dr. Nadler, an associate of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the medical school.

Cancer: 1. FIR therapy is helpful in the destruction of cancer cells, as they begin to die off when the malignant tissue reaches 104-106F (40-41C). It takes but a small increase in body temperature for the body to increase the production of white blood cells, which are critical to the destruction of tumors. Regular FIR sauna use is an effective approach that compliments any anti-cancer protocol. 2. Researchers from Japan report that FIR therapy can reverse cancer of the tongue. 3. In the later stages of cancer, FIR Sauna Therapy can relieve pain extremely well.

Depression: In a study of 28 mildly depressed patients , 14 were assigned to a treatment group and 14 were assigned to the control group. The treatment group received 140F (60C) far infrared therapy for 15 minutes per day plus bed rest with a blanket for 30 minutes per day. After 20 sessions over a 4 week period, the patients treated with FIR had significantly less somatic complaints, significantly less appetite loss and significantly better relaxation.

Flexibility: A FIR Sauna is perfect as a “heat therapy room” for athletes looking for a pre-workout warm-up to warm up muscles and increase flexibility, helping to prevent injury. It’s also ideal for pre-warm-up for physical therapy and massage therapy, or for a relaxing, wind-down at the end of a stress-filled day.

In a sequential, longitudinal, interrupted time series trial at the Mayo Clinic , 15 hospitalized patients with congestive heart failure underwent daily 15 minute infrared sauna treatment for 4 weeks. These serious end-stage congestive heart failure patients were maximally medicated, unable to walk across the room without shortness of breath and were unable to tolerate warm baths. When they were treated with FIR sauna therapy, symptoms improved in 87% of patients (13 of 15). Left ventricular ejection fraction increased from 30% to 34% on average, meaning that their hearts beat more efficiently and with less effort. Every patients 6 minute walking distance increased. Distance increased from an average of 388 meters to 448 meters (15% faster pace). Average plasma epinephrine (adrenaline) concentration decreased by 48% from 40 pg/mL to 21 pg/mL. Average plasma norepinephrine decreased by 30% from 633 pg/mL to 443 pg/mL. These two are both used to diagnose congestive heart failure. Diastolic blood pressure (the low number) decreased but systolic pressure (the top number) was unchanged. This means that they did not get hypertensive and the work that the hearts had to do decreased. There were no side effects (something that never happens with drugs and surgery). No patients had dyspnea (shortness of breath), angina (chest pain) or arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat), or complained of excess heat. FIR sauna therapy literally saved their lives.

Inflammation: The increased peripheral circulation occurring with FIR sauna therapy provides the transportation needed to help evacuate the edema, which can help stop inflammation, decrease pain and help speed healing. Researchers have observed high success rates when applying FIR therapy to resolve post surgical infection, pelvic infection and frostbite with inflammation.

Joint Stiffness/Collagen Tissue Extensibility/Stretching : 1. In one case of rheumatoid finger joints, there was a 20% decrease in stiffness at 112F (45C) as compared with 92F (33C). Any stiffened joint and thickened connective tissues should respond in a similar fashion. 2. Tissues heated to 112F (45C) and then stretched exhibit a non-elastic residual elongation of about 0.5-0.9% that persists after the stretch is removed. It does not occur in these same tissues when stretched at normal tissue temperatures. Thus 20 stretching sessions can produce a 10-18% increase in length in tissues so heated and stretched.

Menopause: FIR therapy relieves menopause related symptoms: relieved chills, nervousness, depression, dizziness, head & stomach aches.

There seems to be an almost continual flow of new information regarding infrared ray saunas and their benefits to our health. Hopefully you enjoy this short list of the benefits that we already know about.

Storing Corrosive Liquids Safely

0

Whether you are a manufacturing or industrial business more than likely that your workers handle highly-corrosive chemicals while carrying out their jobs. Of course suitable storage of any hazardous material is mandated by law, however some business owners have questions about what safety cabinets storage alternatives are to be considered.

Corrosive liquids are ones that sear, blister, or damage organic tissue. Chemicals with a pH value less than 4.0 (acidic) or greater than 10.0 (basic) are labeled corrosive. Corrosive liquids can also mix with other chemicals to cause fire, explosion, and toxic gases. Because of the damage to people and property that can be caused by corrosive liquids, they need to be stored properly. The OSHA recommended way to do that is in a cabinet specifically designed for this objective, such as those made by Justrite.

Justrite Blue Steel Safety Cabinets, which come in a variety of sizes and models, feature double-wall construction, dual vents, ground-wire connections, adjustable shelves, leak-proof sills, three-point self-latching doors, and leveling feet-all of which provide storage for corrosives safely. To withstand aggressive agents, Justrite cabinets also include polyethylene trays attached to galvanized steel shelves and a separate, easy-to-clean, polyethylene liner for the bottom sump. The all-epoxy, baked-on powder-coat finish, which is both inside and outside the cabinet, provides augmented chemical resistance.

When storing corrosive liquids in your Justrite cabinet, here are a few guiding principles to remember:

Be sure that unrelated items (like rags) are not left in your corrosives cabinet.

Store acids away from reactive metals such as sodium, potassium, and magnesium.

Store oxidizing acids away from organic acid and flammable and combustible chemicals-these can combine to cause a fire or explosion.

Do not store acetic acid with oxidizing acids. Acetic acid is an organic (carboxylic) acid that will react if it comes in contact with an oxidizing acid.

While nitric acid and hydrochloric acid can be stored in the same corrosive storage cabinet, they must have separate drip trays because, if they combine, they will form chlorine and nitrosyl chloride gases, both of which are dangerous.

Isolate acids from chemicals that could generate toxic or flammable gases upon contact, such as sodium cyanide, iron sulfide, and calcium carbide.

Store acids separate from bases-when some acids and bases combine, they can do so violently.

Also, keep bases separated from metals, explosives, organic peroxides, and flammable materials.

Safety team members should make sure that they maintain separate cabinets from different chemicals, particularly if it is not well-known whether an agent is able to be stored with another. While the expense may seem prohibitive, the savings in business liability insurance and potential injuries and damage is well worth the preventative measure.

In closing, the final step to appropriate corrosives storage is appropriate training of workforce, particularly new employees who are still learning the properties of chemicals they work with. Even though a business takes the proper safety measures by providing corrosives cabinets, errors can be made by unsuitably trained workforce, and regular training classes need to be in place to offer a strong level of deterrence.

Choosing The Right Camping Generator

0

Everybody, at some point, has wanted to own and buy a generator. However, there are a number of different generators that is available in the market. The most popular being the camping generators, emergency power generators, standard portable, RV, jobsite, and marine generators catering to a whole variety of uses. This is one of the reasons why before buying, you should first figure out how and where you’ll be using that generator.

If you are, however, looking for a camping generator, this is the right place for you. This article can give you some points in how to choose the right one for your needs and demands.

Generators generally have only two parts, the engine and the alternator. So, the size and other characteristics, like its quietness and price, of the whole equipment usually depend on the size and quality of these two components. But, despite the common belief of most, the alternator is really that plays the biggest part and its type should be one of the greatest factor you should consider in getting a generator.

The two types of alternators are the standard and the inverter. Standard generators are made up of heavy copper coils that generate the electricity. Equipments with this type of alternators are usually noisy since the engine is required to maintain a 3,600 rotation speed per minute so it can produce power, and it also consumes more fuel. Apart from this, it is not for power sensitive electronics because it cannot produce electricity as clean as utility power.

Inverter generators, on the other hand, can produce clean AC power. It is also very light and compact and its engine can run at different speeds that reduce the noise.

This second type is the more suitable type for camping generators. As you will need it to be handy so you can carry it around, they are small and lightweight. They are also usually ready for easy refueling and very quiet. However, as it is really compact, its power capacity is also limited, having low wattage, so it can only energize two or three appliances. But this shouldn’t be the case, since you are outdoors and you should be enjoying nature and staying away from electronics, right?

With these tips already on hand, you can now check out your local or online generator store and snag yourself that handy equipment you need for your hiking trip.

Compaction Solutions: Choosing the Right Equipment

0

There are a lot of factors to consider when managing a business or a major facility. One of the main concerns that people tend to overlook or not put much thought into is how to deal with trash. Some facilities have the potential to produce huge amounts of trash, and it has to be dealt with somehow. In many cases, there’s too much trash for it to be hauled away by a garbage collection company without being compacted. In those cases, a trash compactor may be the best solution. How do you know if you need a compactor -and if you need one, how do you know which one is right for your needs?

To know whether or not you need a compactor at all, you just have to figure out how much waste your facility churns out in a week. Most small businesses, such as simple stores or restaurants, don’t generate enough waste to require the use of a compactor. Industrial facilities or other companies that produce more waste are more likely to have use for a compactor. Generally, a facility should be producing at least 30 cubic yards of waste every week to justify a small compactor. From that point, it’s just a matter of scale. There are compactors that can handle hundreds of cubic yards of waste a week.

A compactorr is an expensive piece of equipment, so it’s important to make sure that you’re getting a good one. There are several key questions that you should have answers to before you start shopping around for a compactor. The first and most obvious question has to do with size. You need to figure out exactly how much waste the facility will generate and find a compactor that is big enough, but not too big. However, you may want to consider getting a bigger model if your facility is likely to grow.

It’s also important to note the size of not only the overall amount of waste, but the individual objects that make up the trash. Particularly large objects may have a hard time fitting into some compactors. Try and find dimensions of the largest objects that will need to be compacted so you can compare it against the opening on the compactor.

You’ll also need to consider where the compactor is going to be. It should be in a place where it’s not too inconvenient for workers to access, but it also must be easily reachable by trash collection services.

Another factor to consider is the ease of use of the unit. Since people are going to have to be trained to use the compactor, it’s helpful to have one that is easy to learn. Along the same lines, safety is also a major factor. The compactor you choose should be safe so that your employees don’t get injured while using it.

Once you’ve nailed down the answers to those key questions, you’ll be able to find a trash compaction solution that works for your business.

What Are the Differences between Single-Stations and Multi-Stations Home Gyms? What Are the Differences between Single-Stations and Multi-Stations Home Gyms?

0

To put it simply, multi-station Home Gyms are much more complicated than the regular single station ones and they also take up a lot more space and cost a significant amount more money. However, there are some very clear advantages of multi-station gyms.

Firstly, you are going to need to have about twice as much space for a multi-station gym installation. About fifty square feet is the recommended minimum for this although you might be able to get away with using less space if you are comfortable with it and you buy particularly small multi-station equipment.

Multi-station gyms have the advantage of being much more complex and offering a wide array of different exercise patterns. This potentially means that they can be more effective in getting you to keep fit but perhaps most obviously to begin with, it also means that exercise will become a little more interesting since you won’t constantly by doing the same thing.

Typically, multi-station gyms can accommodate more people at the same time so if you have two or more people in your household who want to exercise on a regular basis, then that will also be possible with such a setup.

For the vast majority of people, the single-station home gym will be more than adequate and although they still cost a significant amount of money, they are much more suited to people who are starting out. It would be a big mistake to spend a huge amount of money on a fully featured multi-station affair unless you are absolutely sure that you are going to make the most out of it.

Having a gym at your home is one of the best and most effective ways to lose weight and to keep fit in the longer term. However, you may prefer other methods of keeping fit such as jogging or going out to a public gym and if this is the case, then you want to think very carefully about investing a great deal of money into a home setup.

Perhaps one of the best things you can do is go to test it out before you buy it. This will be sure to give you a good overall impression about what you are in for and it is very important that you feel comfortable if the exercises that you can do in your home gym.

There are various other important factors that you should take into account when designing your own home gym. Regardless of what sort of gym it is, you should make sure that it has the right sort of location. Ideally, you want a large and light airy room. It needs to be comfortable and pleasant to be in, preferably are plenty of excess space. If you don’t have a lot of space, then you will need to be prepared to downgrade a bit and get a smaller setup. You might also want to take the time to design the room in such a way that it makes you feel more energised and more positive. Everyone is different in this respect, but you should take time to pay attention to the us the ticks of the room.

Massage Chair Review: Panasonic EP3222 Massage Recliner

0

Our goal is to present a potential massage chair purchaser with an unbiased, thorough and comprehensive review of the Panasonice Real Pro Elite. We have developed a 5 category system to evaluate a massage chair. We give equal weight to each category and give 0 to 20 points rating and then add them up to present an overall score. Our categories include Warranty & Customer Service, Comfort/Ergonomics, Ease of Use, Features and Massage Therapy. This systematic approach forces us to a disciplined method of evaluating a massage chair to help guide anyone looking at massage chairs. The Panasonic Real Pro Elite EP-3222 shiatsu massage chair price is in the Luxury range of $4,000 to $5,000.

Warranty & Customer Service: First is how the manufacturer rates in both warranty coverage and customer service. The manufacturer needs to stand behind its product. Panasonic gives a 1 year labor, 1 year parts and 1 year in-home service as well as 1 year shipping. Panasonic puts a machine life cap of 1,000 hours of use. Panasonic gives a short warranty combined with the 1,000 hour cap (for heavy users), the warranty rates as ok. The electronics company’s such as Panasonic (or Sanyo) like to sell extended warranties. Panasonic offers in-home technician service and will pay for shipping for the first year. Customer service is through your retailer. Service times vary on the service center location. Overall Rating for Panasonic warranty and customer service is 15.

Comfort & Ergonomics: The comfort and fit of a shiatsu massage chair is important. Otherwise, the chair will only be used for massage. The chair back and armrests of the Panasonic Real Pro Elite are comfortable and the upholstery is well padded. The head pillow is soft and the thickness is appropriate. The footrest is comfortable, but cannot be adjusted. If you are 5′ 10″ or more, then your knees must be bent when the footrest is raised. This is the least ergonomic part of the chair. The average person in the US is taller than in Asia, so the footrest can be an issue. Our rating in this category is 17.

Ease of Use: Ease of use is defined as how intuitive the controls and how complicated are they to use without reading the instructions. Panasonic has lead in the development of remote controls using LCDs and other advanced features. The Real Pro Elite EP-3222 has many features and correspondingly many buttons on the control. Most are intuitive, but some take some getting used to, which means lower ease of use. Panasonic tries to compensate for this with its “Voice Guidance” feature. The automatic massage buttons are located across the top of the controls for easy access and they have a “focus” button which allows you to repeat the massage action that occurred. The Real Pro Elite has a side panel with additional manual massage controls for the lower body massages. Overall Rating for the Panasonic Real Pro Elite for ease of use is 17.

Key Features: The most prominent features of the Panasonic EP-3222 are the Lower Body Air System and the Swede-Atsu massage system. The lower body air system has 33 airbags covering your hips, thighs, buttocks, calves and feet. There are 3 lower body massages including Grasp, Auto and Squeeze. The Swede-Atsu replicates the stoking of the palms of the hand, pressing by the heal of the hand, and kneading with the thumbs. The Swede-Atsu has rubber massage heads built into the rollers. These mechanisms can replicate the feeling of the palm, thumbs and heal of the hand. The Swede-Atsu is a good massage system. The Panasonic Real Pro Elite shiatsu massage chair is a 19 in Key Features.

Massage Therapy: The massage functions are included in the Real Pro Elite EP-3222 includes Four 14-minute Pre-Programs, One 5-minute Quick Program and One 14-minute Self Program has 4 full body automatic courses, 5 massage speed settings for a total combination of 14 massage courses. The automatic massage functions include the following: Shiatsu, Gentle, Deep and Refresh. Panasonic equips the EP-3222 its exclusive Swede-Atsu massage system providing a thorough and realistic array of massage therapy choices. The lower body has 33 airbags of coverage and three programs to choose from. This shiatsu massage chair provides good tension relief for the lower body and increased lateral coverage on the back. Overall Rating for the Panasonic EP-3222 massage recliner for massage therapy is 19.

How does Panasonic Real Pro Elite EP-3222 rate? Overall, our rating of the Panasonic Ep-3222 is an 87/100. The remote control is easy to use, intuitive and comes with the Voice Guidance. The back and lower body massages are pretty comprehensive and effective. The warranty is a bit of a concern, since the direct factory warranty is rather short. It is possible to purchase an extended warranty, but this impacts the delivered price. If you are tall, then the footrest is an issue, since it cannot be adjusted. However, the technology used seems reliable and delivers a thorough massage. If you are looking for a shiatsu massage recliner in this category, this is definately one to seriously consider.
