Never expected that one, right? I know I sure didn’t when I first heard of it. Tests and studies have tried to determine why it works, but so far…no one has been able to prove anything. It’s one of those things that has been around and working for so long, that people just do it for that reason alone.
There are tons of theories as to why it works. I believe, as do many others that cider vinegar is one of the foods that speed up metabolism. It boosts your bodies ability to digest and turn food into energy.
Some think that the cider vinegar itself burns the calories in your body. Burned calories don’t get converted to fat – ergo, weight loss.
It’s been theorized that it aids in cleansing the liver, which can have a big impact in weight loss.
According to a recent study, cider vinegar ingested just before a meal will make you feel fuller. Thereby eating less and losing weight. The study was a small one and more work has to be done, but the results are encouraging.
One sign that something is working is the test of time…how long has it been around. Is it a fad? Using cider vinegar as one of the foods that speed up metabolism has been traced back to the ancient Egyptians! That’s about as far away from being a fad as it gets!
Including cider vinegar into your weight loss program is effortless and there are several options. The least expensive and easiest is to just add a little to a glass of juice or water and drink it with or before your meal.

As a bonus, it includes several vitamins and minerals and it would be worth the effort to include this in your general diet…even if you don’t have any desire to lose weight.

It’s also helpful with digestion, sore throats, arthritis pain and even diabetes.

That means that – undiluted – it could damage or burn your throat, teeth and mouth. You MUST dilute it in water or juice before ingestion.
